DANIELSON, Conn. -- Nearly two dozen brides-to-be said they were promised wedding gowns from at Danielson store that suddenly closed up shop with no explanation. But after hearing about the shop, Attorney General Richard Blumenthal’s office pressured the business to reopen and give the brides-to-be the dresses for which they paid.“In tough economic times, there's temptation to walk away from the business and leave customers stranded without recourse, but we will take action whenever that happens,” said Blumenthal.Jennifer Watson said the moment couldn’t have come soon enough.“Little bit of mental anguish, but I got my dress and I'm moving forward,” she said. She and others rushed to pick up their dresses Friday morning.“Obviously the wedding must go on,” said Watson. “I had to get my hair done.”A Connecticut state trooper was also on-hand to oversee the transactions and make sure emotions were kept in check, Blumenthal said. The husband of the woman who owns the shop, called Classic Images, said the business was closing but planned to honor the existing contracts. The attorney general said it's possible that potential charges in this case could be dropped if all the dresses are delivered or if customers get a refund.
