The brother of a man found fatally shot inside the Southbury home he shared with his mother has been located after an overnight manhunt.

Man Found, Forces Schools Closed

Police said 19-year-old Stephen Throckmorton was found Tuesday morning at a home in the town of Morris.

Classes were canceled at schools in Region 6 on Tuesday while police searched for Stephen Throckmorton in connection with the death of his brother, 21-year-old Ronald Throckmorton.

Police said the body of Ronald Throckmorton was found shot to death in his home on White Birch Drive in Southbury on Monday. Police identified his brother as the person of interest after witnesses reported seeing his car fleeing the scene. Police said witnesses said they saw Stephen Throckmorton running from the home moments after hearing gunfire.

The search for Stephen Throckmorton caused Warren Elementary School to be locked down Monday afternoon. Connecticut State Police said the his vehicle was found near the Sackett Hill Road school, causing the school to be locked down as a precaution.

State police used K-9 units and a helicopter to search a wooded area near the school.

All schools in the Region 6 district were closed on Tuesday morning while police continued the search for Stephen Throckmorton. Police said transportation to Wolcott Tech would not be provided to students living in the Region 6 district.
