MONTVILLE, Conn. -- Police have made an arrest in a fatal hit-and-run that took place near Mohegan Sun Casino in April.Jeffrey Socha, 22, of Oakdale was arrested in connection with the crash in which Fu Quan Liu was critically injured. He died from his injuries weeks after the crash. Police said Liu, of New York, was walking in a crosswalk on Route 32, when he was struck by a dark-colored sedan.Socha was arrested in connection with the crash Wednesday. He was charged with misconduct with a motor vehicle, evading responsibility and failure to obey a traffic signal.Police are crediting the arrest to surveillance video captured by cameras in the casino's parking lot and forensic analysis of paint taken from Liu's clothing.State police said that in October, they received a call from a woman who said that Socha told her that he believed he was the driver that struck Liu."Female caller stated this summer hanging out with her friend, Jeffrey Socha, and she started talking about the hit-and-run," police said. "Socha asked Female Caller 'Can you keep a secret?' and then said, 'I think I'm the one who hit the guy.'"Police said that Socha drives a black Mercury Cougar, and that detectives served a search warrant on the car at the end of October.
