PROSPECT, Conn. -- If shoveling the snow and slush was your biggest problem Wednesday, Keith Conway said he’d like to be in your shoes.Conway said he was wearing a thick hat and didn't hear a large tree rip out of the ground at the edge of his driveway.
“My son and I were between the cars here cleaning them off,” he said. “I just heard him screaming.”His 19-year-old son was screaming for him to run, he said.“Both of us were hit by the tree and knocked to the ground,” Conway said. “I have a couple of cuts. My nose doesn't feel good right now.He said his son suffered a bad cut to his head and a shoulder injury.“My wife was hysterical because we were both on the ground bleeding and all three vehicles were running,” Conway said. “It was pretty much chaos.”Conway said ice storms have brought down big branches before in his yard before, “but nothing this size. It’s just incredible.”“Thankfully, (my son) heard it and screamed because we were right where all these branches are,” he said, pointing to the scene of the incident. “We're just happy that we're alive and in one piece at this point.”
