Waterbury police have made an arrest in connection with the death of a 39-year-old man whose body was found in an abandoned factory on Thursday.

Police said Matthew O'Brien-Veader, 21, was arrested Friday. They said he was living in the abandoned building at 835 S. Main St. along with the victim, Joed Olivera.

Both men were homeless, they said.

Police claim O'Brien-Veader killed Olivera after the two men argued. They said O'Brien-Veader beat Olivera with his own crutch and stabbed him multiple times.

O'Brien-Veader has been charged with murder and is being held on a $1.5 million bond.
