WATERBURY, Conn. -- A pair of robbers fired their weapon inside a Waterbury convenience store during a midday robbery Sunday, police said.Juni's Convenience store manager Shawn Salam told Eyewitness News he was just getting to work when he saw the business getting robbed.“I was two guys behind the counter where it’s not supposed to be so I knew something ain’t right,” he said.Salam said he never went into the Long Hill Road store, where police said at least one shot was fired into the floor.“I tried to get ‘em, get their number plate on their car number, but they ran away,” Salam said.Police said the robbers fled the scene in a white Mercedes with cash. The robbery remains under investigation.
