Vietnam Wall Makes Stop In Montville
Memorial Wall Part Of City's 350th Birthday Celebration

MONTVILLE, Conn. -- As part of its 350th birthday celebration, the traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall made a stop in the Rose City on Wednesday.The wall was set up at the Montville Town Hall Wednesday evening, officials said. Along with the wall, they said, ceremonies were held that included singing and speeches.As many as 300 motorcycles lined Route 32 during the event as well, city officials said. A motorcade of just as many antiques also traveled on Route 32, passing under a huge U.S. flag on their way to Howard Brown Park on the harbor, they said.The traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall was scheduled to be open to the public on Thursday beginning at 12:30 p.m. at Howard Brown Park and will be on display 24 hours a day through Sunday night.The memorial's stop is sponsored by the Richard Hourigan VFW Post 594 and Auxilliaries.For more information about the city's 350th birthday celebration, visit the Norwich 350th Web site.
