STRATFORD, Conn. -- Connecticut police said they caught a 26-year-old Stratford woman in bed with a 15-year-old boy at her home, and that she admitted having sex with him.

Town police said they went to Kristen Blanco's home Tuesday after receiving a complaint that she had been having sexual relations with the Bridgeport boy. They said a relative let officers inside the home and they found Blanco and the boy naked together in bed.

But police said they didn't arrest her at the time because the two were just caught sleeping in the same bed.

An investigation was immediately launched, police said, and an arrest warrant was issued this week.

Police said Blanco, a mother of two, told them she loves the boy and began having sexual relations with him in May. They added that the relationship appeared to be consensual, but that because the boy is younger than 16 years old, it’s illegal.

Blanco turned herself in Monday on charges of sexual assault and risk of injury. She is free on a $2,500 bond.

Blanco, whose neighbor said she's a good mother who works as a receptionist at a pediatrician’s office, is due in court on July 8.
