Police said a 30-year-old man was shot on Sigourney Street in Hartford on Wednesday night and that he did not survive.

They said the shooting occurred at about 11:15 p.m.

The victim was driven by an unidentified individual to St. Francis Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said they processed the car in which the victim was driven to the hospital with the hope of piecing the crime together.

Residents who live in the area where the crime took place said this is the 18th murder in Hartford so far this year. They said it has them on edge.

"When I hear bullets flying, I duck for cover," one said. "Bullets hit and kill people."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Hartford police.
