MERIDEN, Conn. -- Police are investigating a fatal stabbing near a Meriden bar.

Police said Willie Brown, 41, of Middletown, was stabbed in the chest near Raffy's Bar on Springdale Avenue.

The stabbing was reported before 11:30 p.m.

Brown was taken to Midstate Hospital, where he died.
