DANIELSON, Conn. -- Residents who live in a Danielson neighborhood said they're being overrun by dozens of feral cats.Joan Desrosier said she feeds as many as 30 cats in the neighborhood."What happened is it was just kittens having kittens," Desrosier said.Because the cats aren't neutered or spayed, neighbors said they're multiplying. They said that if it was a dog issue, animal control could take them, but that cats aren't regulated.Neighbors said the felines are going to the bathroom everywhere and making the neighborhood smell bad."They pee all over my front porch," resident Roger Brien said.He said they also go to the bathroom in his garden and hiss at him when he tries to shoo them away.Another issue is that Desrosier doesn't live at the home where she feeds the cats. She said her granddaughter lives there."I'm trying to get these cats fixed," she said. The state will usually pay to get the cats fixed, but because the state has no budget right now, the problem has worsened.
