FARMINGTON, Conn. -- A construction worker died after being struck in the head with a steel beam on a construction site in Farmington Wednesday morning, police said.Police said the man was struck by a steel beam at about 9:30 a.m. on Birmingham Circle off River Road. They said the man was working in the basement of a home under construction when a steel I-beam fell on him, striking him in the head. Police said the beam then landed on the worker.The man was airlifted to Hartford Hospital, where he later died.The victim's identity has not been released. The incident remains under investigation and police are working with members of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
