HARTFORD, Conn. -- Lawmakers will be headed back to the state capitol because the budget deficit is growing. On Thursday, Republicans began to blast Democrats and said the budget they passed weeks ago is broken and needed to be fixed.Republicans are angry and Democrats and Democrats are upset with Republicans. Both sides blamed each other for not doing a good job at balancing the state budget.The deficit keeps getting higher. It stands at more than $600 million.Republican lawmakers are calling for immediate action. They said Democrats, who hold the majority, must fix the budget and make more cuts.Democrats are not willing to take the blame. They said the problem lies with Republicans who did not put forth a balanced budget and the governor, who agreed to make budget cuts but has not been willing to carry them out.Not one Republican voted for the budget, and the governor refused to sign it.
