GROTON, Conn. -- Police said a Groton teacher was arrested for having a sexual relationship with a student.

Timothy Riendeau, an art teacher at Fitch Senior High School was arrested on Thursday after an investigation.

Police said the investigation began several weeks ago after they were alerted to suspicious behavior between the two.

Twenty-nine-year-old Riendeau was charged with two counts of sexual assault.

Riendeau was free on $150,000 bond.

Riendeau was scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 2.
