MIDDLETOWN, Conn. -- Three people were injured in a crash on Route 9 in Middletown Sunday evening.

Police said a Jeep Grand Cherokee was traveling northbound on Route 9 when the operator lost control of the vehicle just before 6 p.m.

Police said the Jeep struck the center diveider before crossing into the southbound lanes and overturning on its side.

Three people were taken to Hartford Hospital. The victims’ identities and extent of their injuries was unknown Sunday night.
