CROMWELL, Conn. -- A man suspected in a carjacking at a Cromwell grocery store was found hiding beneath another vehicle in a Middletown home’s garage Friday night, police said.Police were called to the Stop & Shop on West Street at about 11 p.m. for reports of a stolen vehicle. Police said a woman had exited the grocery store and was about to get in her car when she was approached by a man. Police said the man asked the woman for a light, the use of a cell phone and a ride. The woman declined and attempted to get in her car, police said.Police said the man, identified as David Fazzina, 39, of Durham, then got in the woman’s car through the passenger side, grabbed the steering wheel, put his foot on the gas, and pushed the woman from the car with his elbow before fleeing. After finding the car unoccupied in Middletown, police said they used a K-9 to find Fazzina hiding beneath a parked vehicle in the garage in the back of a home on Miller Street.Fazzina was charged with robbery, carjacking, larceny and interfering with a police officer. His bond was set at $100,000 and he is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 7.
