The fire was so intense, the family's truck suffered heat damage while sitting parked in the driveway. The community rallied together; showering them with gifts, food, clothing, and plenty of gift cards to buy new items.A Middlefield company, United Cleaning and Restoration, LLC., who was called in for the fire restoration and water damage thought to help.Bill Leone of United Cleaning said, "It's Christmas time. These are hard times. We want to help in whatever way we can."In the spirit of the season, starting Friday anyone cam make a donation at any Webster Bank in the state to the Martone Family Benefit Fund.Doug Grimshaw of Webster Bank said, "Thomaston is a small community, everyone knows everyone. It's the right thing to do."If you are interested in making a donation to the fund, which will remain open until it's no longer needed, you can stop by any Webster Bank branch in the state.
