Shooting Reported In Meriden

MERIDEN, Conn. -- Police in Meriden are investigating a shooting that took place Friday afternoon.Police said at 3 p.m., officers responded to 15 Lincoln St. where they found a 20-year-old man who had been shot at least one time.Shamar Dickerson, of Meriden, was shot while walking on Colony Street with another man when, police said, someone in a car may have started firing. Police are unsure if the two men walking fired back at the vehicle.Dickerson was transported to Hartford Hospital for treatment. His condition is unknown at this time.Police said witnesses described two different cars to police. One being a silver or gold Honda, the second being a "junky" looking car.Police are asking anyone with information to contact them by dialing 203-630-6201.
