Armed Man Robs Plainville Dunkin' Donuts
Employee Tied Up In Robbery

PLAINVILLE, Conn. -- An armed man robbed a Plainville Dunkin’ Donuts Monday morning, police said.Police said an employee was preparing to open the shop on North Washington Street for business at about 4 a.m. when a man entered the store, walked around the counter and pulled out a handgun.Police said the man ordered the employee to open the safe, and said that if she did what he ordered, she wouldn’t be hurt.After giving the robber the money, police said the man taped the woman’s hands behind her back and sat her in a chair. He then cut the electrical and phone wires before fleeing the store.The worker was able to free herself and call police using her cell phone.The robber is described as a white man, about 6 feet tall with a medium build. He was wearing a gray jacket, orange hat, tan gloves , light-colored pants and a yellow scarf, which covered his face.Anyone with information regarding the investigation is urged to contact the Plainville Police Department by dialing 860-747-1616.
