BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- A pet dog was unable to escape a fire at a three-family home in Bridgeport Monday evening.

Flames broke out at the Connecticut Avenue home at about 4:30 p.m.

Fire officials said the blaze began on the home's second floor and spread to the third.

No one was injured in the blaze, but fire officials said about a dozen people were displaced in the fire.

Fire officials said a pet dog was inside the home at the time of the fire and was unable to escape.
