Police: Kidnapped Student Jumps From SUV

NORWALK, Conn. -- A student was able to escape her kidnapper by jumping from his moving SUV in Norwalk Wednesday evening, police said.Alexander Wendorf, 27, of Stamford, is accused of luring a Norwalk Community College student into his SUV after asking her for directions just after 7 p.m., police said. Police said Wendorf told the woman he was a police officer.Police said Wendorf managed to talk his way into the student's car and told her he had diabetes and wasn't feeling well. The woman then drove Wendorf to his car in another parking lot where he asked the student to hold his flashlight while he gave himself an insulin injection, according to police.At one point, police said he asked her to get in the car.Police said after the woman was inside Wendorf's vehicle, he drove off. The woman was able to jump from the moving SUV about two minutes later, state police said.The woman was treated at Norwalk Hospital for minor injuries.Wendorf was arrested on charges of kidnapping, unlawful restraint and impersonating a police officer. His bond was set at $500,000.Norwalk Community College has added extra security and are trying to blitz students with information about how to make sure they are not caught off guard.
