NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- One man is dead after a double shooting in New Haven Saturday morning.

Police said officers were called to a city hospital for reports of a person shot at about 3:40 a.m. They said a 27-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds to his arm and hand told police his friend was shot in a car on Garden Street.

Police said a 33-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the head was found in the car. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 27-year-old is expected to survive his injuries.

The shooting remains under investigation.
