WATERBURY, Conn. -- A Connecticut teacher and his students are marking Sept. 11 with a song that has received some national recognition.Channel 3 Eyewitness News reporter Jessica Schneider said it started as a lullaby to Michael Ferrari's son, Dante. Ferrari found peace in music five years ago when terrorists attacked the United States.Ferrari's cousin, John P. Bocchi, was at work on the 105th floor of the World Trade Center at Cantor Fitzgerald when the planes hit in New York. He died after the planes it the building."With his desperate voice, he was clinging onto his love for his family. I think the song reflects that, that they're there somewhere," Ferrari said. "It speaks of hope, it speaks of a better tomorrow."In the five years since the attacks, Ferrari's song, "I See Your Face," has taken on a life of its own. The song has been distributed nationwide with all proceeds going toward the Hands Reaching Out Fund for victims of Sept. 11."We were able to generate money and money is still coming in to support the families," Ferrari said.Ferrari will perform his song on Monday on a national stage at a ceremony in New Jersey for a special tribute, "Five Years in the Making," presented by Panasonic International.Stay with WFSB.com and Channel 3 Eyewitness News for the latest news updates.
