Gas Smell Prompts School Evacuation

Fire Officials Say Leak Concerns Unfounded

Students were evacuated from Wilcox Technical High School in Meriden on Monday morning because of a strong odor of natural gas.

Fire crews and Yankee Gas Company responded to the school, located on Oregon Road.

Fire officials said that there was no leak in the building.

Students were allowed back inside by 10 a.m.
