Crews were called to a fire in Seymour on Friday morning.

The fire was reported at JV Precision Machine Co. Inc. at 71 Cogwheel Lane.

Fire crews said a preliminary investigation showed that the fire was caused by an oil line on a machine that ruptured and that it went out on its own.

Seymour Fire Chief Scot Andrews said the building sustained mainly heavy smoke damage. He said they used 20 fans to air the building out.

The building was empty at the time of the crash, fire crews said, because of the holiday weekend.
