Cruiser Hit On I-84 Exit Ramp

A state trooper was injured in a crash in West Hartford early Monday morning.

Police said the trooper’s cruiser was parked in an area of the exit 31 ramp of Interstate 84.

A car driven by Jessica Giblin, of Plainville, was traveling in the right eastbound lane of the highway before veering onto the ramp and striking the front of the cruiser.

Trooper John Blalock was transported to Hartford Hospital with back pain.

Giblin was taken to New Britain General Hospital with neck, chest and knee pain.

The crash remains under investigation.
