Len Besthoff

Eyewitness News I-Team Reporter

Len Besthoff returns to Connecticut as a reporter at Eyewitness News.

A graduate of Wesleyan University in Middletown, Len has earned honors from the Associated Press, Radio Television News Directors Association of the Carolinas, National Press Photographers Association and a Southeastern Emmy Nomination.

In 2007, the Connecticut Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists recognized Len's story about the state's convicts who are listed as "escapees."

Len's passion for news started when he was a child.

"I always wanted to be a baseball announcer," Len said. "Then, when I went to college and the news bug got a hold of me, and I spent untold hours at WESU-FM."

Len added, "Every day is different, we're witnessing history as it happens. Then, there's the creative outlet the job provides, finding ways to mix video and audio and tell viewers a compelling story."

In his free time, Len enjoys gardening, fitness, fantasy baseball and winter sports. He is married with two children.
