Susan Raff

Eyewitness News Reporter

Emmy-nominated Susan Raff is no stranger to the news industry -- her father was with CBS News in New York for more than 50 years.

Before Susan joined the Eyewitness News team in 1995, she was an investigative reporter at a television station in Hartford and a business reporter at WTEN-TV in Albany, N.Y.

Susan brought Connecticut closer to one of the biggest corruption scandals in state history: the investigation into former Gov. John Rowland.

She reported live during the impeachment hearings and at the governor's mansion when Rowland announced his resignation. Then, Susan reported from Pennsylvania, where Rowland began his prison sentence.

After Susan began investigating abuse allegations against a counselor at the Curtis Home in Meriden, a facility for troubled children, officials dismissed the counselor in question.

Susan is active in the community, in which she currently serves as the honorary chairwoman for Mothers Against Drunk Driving. For five years, Susan served as honorary chair of the Connecticut Children's Medical Center for Breast-Feeding Awareness Month.

Among her accomplishments includes testimony before the General Assembly to help pass legislation giving women the right to continue breast-feeding upon return to work. She is also a fundraiser for the American Diabetes Association and the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

Susan holds a master's degree in communications from Emerson College in Boston. She is married to a TV news photographer and has two children.
