(Sports Network) - The Tampa Bay Buccaneers released quarterback Brian Griese on Monday while also signing defensive tackle Roy Miller, their third-round selection in the 2009 NFL Draft.

Griese, in his second stint with the Bucs, started five games last season. The 34-year-old QB was victorious in his first three starts before suffering a shoulder injury in Week 5 against the Broncos, who selected the Michigan alum with their third round pick in 1998.

Griese finished the 2008 campaign with 1,073 yards to go with five touchdowns and seven interceptions. In his career, which included stops in Denver, Miami, Chicago and Tampa, Griese has thrown for 19,440 yards with 119 touchdowns and 99 interceptions in 93 games.

He has a career quarterback rating of 82.7.

The Bucs also added the 6-foot-1, 310-pound Miller, who signed a four-year deal. The University of Texas product recorded 49 tackles and 5 1/2 sacks last season as a senior. He finished his career with the Longhorns with 138 tackles and 10 sacks in 49 games -- 19 starts.
