POSTED: 12:34 pm EDT July 18, 2008

(Sports Network) - The Buffalo Sabres signed goaltender Ryan Miller to a five-year contract extension Friday.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Miller, who was entering the final year of his contract, is now signed through 2013-14.

Last season, Miller posted a 36-27-10 record with a 2.64 goals-against average. The 28-year-old made 34 consecutive starts from January through April, setting franchise-highs in games played with 76 and games started with 75, while also recording a personal-best three shutouts.

The 2001 Hobey Baker Award winner from Michigan State was originally selected by Buffalo in the fifth round of the 1999 NHL Draft.

Entering his sixth pro season, Miller has appeared in 205 regular-season games with a mark of 112-68-19, recorded seven shutouts, a 2.69 GAA and a .908 save percentage.
