20-Year-Old Announces Mayoral Candidacy
Former Worker Of Incumbent Wants To Be Mayor

HARTFORD, Conn. -- One Hartford young adult is not waiting for the future to pursue his dreams.Raul de Jesus became the latest person to announce a mayor candidacy in Hartford.De Jesus, 20, said he knows how City Hall runs because he used to work for the man he is running against."I want to play an important role in the present and most importantly a bigger one in the future," De Jesus said. "Many may use my age to exclude my ideas and to try and put doubt on my abilities, but let the games end and see who succeeds."Incumbent Hartford Mayor Eddie Perez now faces five fellow Democrats in the primary next year. At least one Republican has announced a candidacy so far.
