UConn's Price Leaves Game With Knee Injury

POSTED: 2:32 am EDT March 22, 2008

(Sports Network) - Connecticut guard A.J. Price suffered a sprained left knee in the Huskies first-round matchup versus San Diego in the NCAA Tournament and didn't return.

The Huskies were knocked out of the tournament with a 70-69 overtime loss.

Price was injured with just under 10 minutes left in the opening half when he went airborne on the way to the basket and came down awkwardly. Price, who was down for a few minutes, was eventually helped to the locker room by teammates.

The junior was later seen returning to the court with the aid of crutches and sitting on the bench with ice on his knee.

He was averaging a team-high 14.9 points and six assists this season.
