POSTED: 4:37 pm EDT June 18, 2009

(Sports Network) - The New York Jets agreed to terms with third-round draft selection running back Shonn Greene on Monday. Terms of the agreement were not released.

Greene was taken 65th overall in the 2009 draft out of Iowa where he produced school records last year with 1,850 rushing yards and 20 touchdowns as a junior.

He amassed a Big-Ten record 13 100-yard games en route to capturing the Doak Walker Award, given to the nation's top running back, as well as Big Ten offensive Player of the Year honors. He was a semifinalist for the Maxwell Award and became Iowa's first consensus All-American back since 1939.

The 5-foot-11, 235-pounder totaled 2,228 yards, a 5.9 yards-per-carry average, and 22 TDs in 33 games over three seasons with the Hawkeyes. The 23-year-old added 72 yards on 11 receptions and was named Most Valuable Player of the Outback Bowl in his final collegiate game, running for 121 yards and three touchdowns in Iowa's 31-10 victory over South Carolina.

Also on Monday, New York signed free agent linebacker Brock Christopher. Christopher originally signed with the Falcons as a rookie free agent on April 27 before being released June 3. He had 319 tackles during a four-year run at Missouri.
