Tuesday marked one year since a Stamford woman was mauled by her friend's pet chimpanzee.
Charla Nash lost her hands, nose, lips and eyelids in the Feb. 16, 2008 attack.
Nash's family has been by her side since the attack and said his sister is encouraged after undergoing recent surgery. Nash has been at the Cleveland Clinic undergoing treatment since being attacked by the 200-pound chimpanzee, named Travis.
Nash's brother said a $50 million lawsuit against Travis' owner, Sandra Herald, is moving forward.
