The woman mauled by a chimpanzee in Stamford last year is planning to attend her daughter's high school graduation this month.
Charla Nash's family said she hopes to attend commencement ceremonies at West Hill High School, but that it depends on orders from a doctor.
In February 2009, Nash's friend's pet chimpanzee tore off her hands, nose, lips and eyelids. Nash had gone to the Stamford home of her friend, Sandra Herold, to help her calm the 200-pound animal.
Nash is currently being treated in Boston. She recently underwent a preliminary evaluation to determine whether she is a candidate for a face and hand transplant at a Harvard-affiliated hospital.
Herold died of natural causes last month.
