Kim Lucey - WFSB 3 Connecticut

Kim Lucey

No day is the same when you're a reporter for Eyewitness News This Morning, and the possibility of following an exciting story every day is Kim Lucey's favorite part about this job.

Kim didn't have to travel far to begin at WFSB, coming right down I-91 from Channel 3's sister station in Springfield, Mass. While at CBS 3 Kim was given the responsibility of taking on all aspects of the weekend newscasts, including anchoring the shows each day.

Before arriving in New England, Kim anchored the morning and noon news at WTAP-TV in Parkersburg, West Virginia. During her time in the Mountain State, Kim was honored with an Associated Press award for her story on a man dying of cancer who spent every day sitting next to a busy road encouraging everyone to live their life to the fullest. She got her start in television news at WHP-TV, the CBS affiliate in Pennsylvania's Capital City of Harrisburg.

Kim is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and graduated with Distinction from Penn State University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and minors in History and International Studies. While in Happy Valley, Kim kept busy by reporting and anchoring for two different newscasts at Penn State: PSN News and the Centre County Report.  But, one of Kim's favorite activities was her involvement with the Penn State dance marathon, the world's largest student run philanthropy, raising money to help kids with cancer.  She also spent a semester living, studying, and traveling in Barcelona, Spain.

When she's not working, Kim enjoys skiing, hiking, reading, and spending time with family and friends. As a Pittsburgh native, she cheers on all Steel City sports teams, which has been easy when it comes to the Steelers and Penguins, but yes, also includes her beloved Pirates.

Kim is excited to explore Connecticut! You can help her out by adding her as a friend on Facebook, or emailing her at Kim.Lucey@wfsb.com.
