Barns and outbuildings across the state either collapsed or sustained some damage during the long, snowy winter.
At Quackin' Grass Nursery in Brooklyn, one primary greenhouse failed, insurance was denied, but it was customers who came to the rescue.
Wayne Paquette has spent ten years building his nursery business. It all came crashing down last winter following a series of heavy snowfalls.
One of his three primary greenhouses crumbled.
Today, all that remains are two end walls and a pile of twisted metal.
"Without it we're truly handicapped. So we have no choice but to rebuild," said Paquette.
Insurance denied his claim, so his neighbors and customers came to his aid with a fundraiser.
Paquette said his insurance would have covered him for volcanic ash fallout, a plane crash, but not a 25 year snowstorm.
