4 injured in Norfolk crash, one serious

NORFOLK, CT (WFSB) -

State police are investigating an accident that occurred late Sunday night, injuring four people, one seriously.

Police said a Jeep operated by 22-year-old Ryan Diamond of Lakeville, was driving west on Route 44 in Norfolk near Ashpotaug Road when it drifted off the road and into a large tree around 11 p.m.

Diamond and a passenger, 20-year-old Kevin Cantele of Sailsbury were both flown to Hartford Hospital by Life Star helicopter. 

Police said Cantele suffered serious head injuries in the crash.

The other two passengers, 20-year-old Kevin Diamond of Lakeville and 20-year-old Christopher Bellance of Salisbury were transported by ambulance to Sharon Hospital for treatment.

Police said the accident remains under investigation at this time.
