Route 6 reopens in Bristol after serious crash

BRISTOL, CT (WFSB) -

Route 6 in Bristol is back open this morning after a serious crash closed the road for hours.

Police said the road was closed in the area of Terryville Avenue and Barlow Street after a car hit a tree.

Officials said a medical helicopter was called to the scene shortly after 5:30 a.m.

There is no word on the extent of injuries at this time.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
