Connecticut shoppers get a week long breather from taxes starting Sunday for one week.
Shoppers at the Enfield Square mall said they're really just looking now but their real spending starts next week when clothes and shoes are tax-free.
"I think it's a great idea in this economy. I am going to shop and figure out what I need and come back during the tax-free week," said Ula Dotson of Hartford.
Clothes and shoes under $300 starting next week from Aug. 21 until Aug. 27 are tax free.
The tax free week is expected to save shoppers $7.2 million, but there are restrictions. Jewelry handbags and sporting goods are not included.
"I think this is a good idea people need to save their money," said Linda Charlemagne of Hartford.
