WEST HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -
State police have identified the driver of the tractor trailer that went down an embankment in West Hartford yesterday as 47-year-old John Dilliplane of Philadelphia, Pa.
The highway between exit 39A and 40 was closed around 11 a.m. when a tractor trailer and a flatbed truck towing a trailer collided, police said. The tractor trailer driver lost control, went down an embankment off the interstate near exit 40, and slammed into a utility pole just above New Britain Avenue near the West Farms Mall.
Police said the man driving the tractor trailer died instantly. He was driving a J.S. Express tractor trailer from Philadelphia, carrying 40,000 pounds of juice.
The accident is still under investigation.
