A CT Scan will be performed on a rare, 300-pound endangered Galápagos tortoise in Stamford on Wednesday to diagnose its hind leg condition.
The 8-year-old tortoise will be examined at Cornell University Veterinary Specialists in Stamford at 10:30 a.m.
The Stamford-based veterinary hospital's in-house CT scanners will help veterinarian Jeremy Sabatini with the Pleasantville Animal Hospital in Westchester County, NY determine why the tortoise is unable to use its back leg. The tortoise belongs to Sabatini.
Sabatini was aware of the resources available at the hospital resources and called to schedule the scan.
