
Residents all across Connecticut are preparing as Winter Storm Alfred heads our way.
At this time ***A WINTER STORM WARNING is in effect for Litchfield, Hartford, Tolland, Windham, Northern Fairfield, and Northern New Haven Counties for Saturday afternoon through early Sunday morning.
A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY is in effect for Southern Fairfield, Southern New Haven, Middlesex, and Northern New London Counties.
A HIGH WIND WATCH is in effect for Southern New Haven, Southern Middlesex, and New London Counties from Saturday evening through late Saturday night***
The heaviest snow will be in the hills of Northwest Connecticut, where upwards of 10" will fall.
In Central Connecticut, 6+ inches will be common.
In Southeast Connecticut, where the rain will hold on the longest, look for 2 to 5" of snow.
The heaviest snow will likely fall this evening, and overnight.
Travel is not advised during this time. The storm will be winding down early tomorrow morning, and by mid-morning we'll start to see the sun breaking out. It's still going to be a windy, chilly day tomorrow with highs only in the low 40s.
