HAMDEN, Conn. (WFSB) -

Police and fire crews in Hamden had a busy night looking for a missing hiker.

Police tell Eyewitness News that a 19-year-old Quinnipiac University student became lost at Sleeping Giant State Park.

The hiker called 911 but police lost contact with the hiker when the cell phones battery died.

Officers brought in ATV's and had assistance from the Hamden Fire Department but eventually decided to search on foot and were able to located the missing hiker.
