Rocky Hill School soccer coach placed on administrative leave

ROCKY HILL, CT (WFSB) -

The school district superintendent said in a statement, "The girls' soccer coach was placed on administrative leave after allegations of misconduct were brought to the attention of district administration. The district has notified and is cooperating with the proper authorities and looks forward to bringing this matter to complete resolution."

"I have a couple friends on both the boys and the girls soccer team and nothing has really been filtering from them to me so, it's kind of out of the blue," said Andre Kohanski, a senior at the school.

If the allegations against Pacelia are found to be true, it would be quite a blow to a person who has been with the school's soccer program almost 20 years, has led the team to the post-season multiple times, groomed All American talent, and in 2007 was named Coach of the Year in Connecticut.

"I think they have to tread carefully because if they do officially fire him that would probably lead to a lot of upset among the students. But if at the same time it is something incredibly serious enough, they're not going have any choice but to fire him," Kohanski said.

Eyewitness News left messages with the school system, Rocky Hill police, and Pacelia to elaborate further on this situation. None have called back.
