Teacher critically injured in head-on collision

NEW RUSSIA TOWNSHIP., OH (WOIO) -

A 39-year-old teacher is in critical condition after a head-on car crash in Lorain County.

The accident happened around 3PM Tuesday, November 22nd on Russia Road between Oberlin Road and State Route 58.

Troopers say 79-year-old Donald Kneisel was driving a pick-up truck westbound on Russia Road, when he went left of center and slammed into a Toyota Camry.

The Camry was driven by 39-year-old James Muth. He is now at Metro in critical condition.

Muth is a Social Studies teacher at Firelands High School and they held a vigil for him Monday evening at 6PM.

The other driver, Kneisel, is being treated at Mercy Allen Hospital.

Drugs and alcohol are not suspected.
