SOUTHINGTON, CT (WFSB) -

A Bristol woman faces jail time for allegedly giving away $1,200 worth of tools to people she knew while working at the Southington Home Depot.

Police said Amanda E. Towne gave away drills and saws to people on Oct. 31, and twice on Nov. 10 and 12.

The thefts were discovered by store security. Police said Towne devised a scheme by entering the tools into the store's computer system and then removing them as a purchase.

Towne turned herself into police last week. She faces fourth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit fourth-degree larceny.

She no longer works at Home Depot.
