Rep. Chris Murphy starts letter writing campaign to Lowes

WATERBURY, CT (WFSB) -

Rep. Chris Murphy has started a letter writing campaign calling on Lowes to reconsider its decision to pull advertising from the TLC show All-American Muslim.

Murphy, whose 5th Congressional district represents Waterbury, Danbury, New Britain and Meriden, made national headlines when he spoke on the floor of the House of Representatives Tuesday, lambasting the home improvement store for bowing down to anti-Muslim bias.

Murphy has said Lowes "was influenced by the Florida Family Association, a group that simply believes All-American Muslim is propaganda that hides the Islamic agenda's clear and present danger to American liberties and traditional values."
