Meteorologist Dr. Mel Goldstein has died

Longtime meteorologist for WTNH-TV and former Western Connecticut State University professor, Dr. Mel Goldstein, has died after a long battle with multiple myeloma. He was 66.

According to WCSU's website, Dr. Mel began his career in radio in 1976, shortly after he started teaching, then went on to television. He began a foundation for research into myltiple myeloma at the Yale School of medicine.

Dr. Mel lived in East Haven with his wife Arlene.
