Former UConn football player charged with child pornography

State police arrested Gregory McKee, a former University of Connecticut football player, Friday on  charges he possessed and distributed child pornography from the UConn campus.

Police said McKee, 19, turned himself into state police in Tolland Friday morning.

Police said they began investigating McKee in 2010 for possession and distribution of child pornography.

He was arrested in 2010, but then police continued their investigation. Police said from McKee's seized his computer they found 96 images and 26 videos of child pornography.

Police said the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children identified more than 70 of the children on the video and image files.
